John Hisel- Worship/Associate Pastor

Hisel FamilyJohn was born in Boise in 1979. His parents moved to Omaha, NE and Spokane, WA while his dad finished his education, but returned to Boise for good in 1989.   His first love was sports, and he grew up playing and trying any and every one he could. He graduated from Maranatha Christian School in 1997, while lettering in basketball, football, golf, and track. After high school, he attended college in Kirland, WA at Northwest College (now Northwest University), and graduated in 2003 with a major in youth ministry and a minor in Biblical Studies. John’s parents (John and Terri) live in the Treasure Valley, and his sister Melissa recently moved back to Boise with her husband Kent after 10 years in the Midwest. John was married to his wife Chandra in 2007- they graduated on the same day from the same college in 2003, but only briefly met until a youth event years later that Chandra attended with her sister in Nampa. They have 2 kids, Kristina and John IV.

After college, John moved back to the Treasure Valley and was Youth Pastor at Nampa Christian Faith Center (where he met and married Chandra) for six years before coming to KLC in fall of 2009 as worship/associate pastor. John and Chandra each have always felt a strong calling to the Treasure Valley, and believe strongly in the vision God has given Pastor Stan and Kris for Kuna and all of the surrounding areas. Throughout his time at KLC, John has filled many roles in addition to Worship Pastor, including Zone Director and Youth Pastor, but has remained focused on helping Pastor Stan accomplish the purpose laid out for KLC. He has a heart for seeing people encounter Jesus through authentic worship and believes it can happen in any setting, with a full band or in a simple gathering with people lifting their voices together. He has been honored to be involved in and lead worship at many Chi Alpha events at Boise State University, Fellowship of Christian Athletes events on public high school campuses, and numerous camps/retreats for the Assemblies of God. Chandra runs the kids ministry at KLC (nursery to sixth grade), and also handles all of the bookkeeping, as she is a certified CPA. She is also heavily involved in making both teen and kids camp happen each summer.

Though not as devoted as he once was, John still plays as many sports as time allows. Mostly, he likes to golf when the weather is nice and ski when the weather is cold.  He is still an avid sports follower, and closely follows Boise State football and basketball, Nebraska football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the LA Dodgers, and the LA Lakers. Chandra loves to read and be outside, and will watch sports if there is a fire to curl up to. They both love anything that includes their family.

Chase Forrey- Youth Pastor

View More: http://simplicity.pass.us/chase-and-hannah-bridal-portraitsHistory: Chase was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. He grew up playing a variety of sports including baseball, lacrosse, basketball, wrestling, cross country running, swimming, snowboard racing, and tennis. His dad was his coach in almost all of the sports. After he graduated high school, he attended Boise State University on a full ride academic scholarship and graduated with a Communication degree in 2014. Chases dad, mom, brother, sister, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law all attended BSU, and are die-hard Bronco fans.

Ministry: Chase was called to ministry at a youth summer camp when he was in Jr. High. He immediately started serving in his church’s youth ministry and was in charge of the Bible Club at Capital High School. He interned at KLC for a little over 2 years before becoming the youth pastor in December of 2012. Chase is currently the youth pastor of RYM (KLC’s youth ministry) and is director of The Zone, a separate non-profit after school program. He also teaches the religious release called Launch Pad every other week.

Chase ended up at Kuna because he played the bass guitar and they needed a bass player. After playing once a month and getting to know the youth pastor at the district kids camp, he started interning in the spring after graduating high school.

Family: Chase got married to the love of his life, Hannah Forrey, in the summer of 2014. They enjoy leading students to Jesus and have a passion for the youth of Kuna. They have a pet fish named Buster.

Recreation/passions: Chase enjoys living in Idaho because of the many available outdoor recreation activities. He loves playing sports and enjoys coaching the RYM softball team each spring. He also loves to do a variety of hunting- the majority is waterfowl and upland game, but I also do a little big game hunting. Chase is also passionate about cars. He saved throughout high school and part of college to buy one of my dream cars during his junior year, a 2004 Ford Mustang. His parents own a 1965 Mustang that he was able to drive growing up, so owning his own Mustang is a dream come true.

Nonni Quintana- Women’s Pastor

Nonni P. Quintana, aka-Alicia, was born and raised in Burley, Idaho. Burley is a small town, so it was not uncommon for Nonni and her cousins to set out on daily, unsupervised, adventures which included going to the city pool, swimming in the Snake River, running in local parks, and traipsing to the yearly circus that came to town. She was born to a single mom, Oralia Rendon, and is the second oldest of 5 girls born to her mom.

NonniNonni met and married her husband, Michael R. Quintana Sr. in Burley, and they are now celebrating 25 years of marriage. They have three daughters, one son, two son-in-laws, and one beautiful grand-child, Adelynn Rose Hodge. Adelynn has become an inspiration to her “Lita” to make sure to pass on God’s love, Word, and guidance to every generation to come.

Shortly after moving to Kuna in 2007, Nonni and her family started attending Kuna Life Church. They attended one Sunday, and feeling immediately like it was “home,” have been going to KLC ever since. She has been the women’s pastor since 2013, but served at Kuna Life Church in whichever capacity was needed in the preceding years.

Nonni attended Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington, and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Ministerial Leadership in 2012. She desires to continue learning and growing in the work her Lord has for her. Her passion is to intentionally express the crazy love our Savior has for her to ALL people.

Some of her hobbies and favorite things to do are: spending as much time with her family as possible, especially her grand-baby Adelynn, watching the NFL (Denver Broncos in particular), outdoor activities, reading, discussing things of God, watching movies, cooking, and trying new experiences. She also loves feeding people and throwing parties.
